Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSC) Injections
Stem cells are precursor cells to your body’s tissues; they develop into new cells that replace old, damaged, or worn out cells, repairing the tissues to which they belong. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are particularly effective in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, as they develop into bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. MSC therapy may be used to treat back, hip, and shoulder injuries; osteoarthritis; and, cartilage, ligament, muscle, and tendon damage. MSCs are taken from your bone marrow and processed in-office for injection.
The MSCs used by our physicians come from your own body. A physician will perform a procedure called a bone marrow aspiration, during which MSC-rich fluid is removed from your bone marrow. The fluid is processed in-office into bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) and then injected into the area being treated using ultrasound-guided imaging.
Your physician may decide to include platelet-rich plasma (PRP) along with your MSC injection. PRP is also made in-office from your own blood and contains growth factors that promote healing, enhance tissue growth, and augment the functioning of MSCs. A physician will perform a comprehensive examination and develop the most efficacious treatment strategy for your condition in order to reach your desired therapy goals.
Please read our blog Mesenchymal Stem Cells & Osteoarthritis for a description of MSCs and how they can be used in the treatment of OA.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections
The platelets in your blood plasma play a major role in the repair of damaged tissues. In response to tissue damage, platelets release chemical growth factors that promote healing, stimulate new cell growth, and accelerate the tissue repair process. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrate of platelets and plasma made in-office from your own blood. PRP can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, for hair and skin restoration, and for male/female sexual function enhancement.
The PRP is injected by a physician using ultrasound-guided imagery into the treatment area. A physician will perform a comprehensive examination and develop the most efficacious treatment strategy for your condition in order to reach your desired therapy goals.
Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy has been shown to relieve symptoms of menopause in women and andropause in men, turning back the clock so to speak on physiological changes that decrease vitality and lead to aging.
Hormone pellets injected into the subcutaneous tissue deliver consistent, physiologic levels of hormones. Pellets avoid the fluctuation of hormone levels seen with every other method of delivery, allowing for consistency of delivery and efficacy.
Peptide Injection Therapy
Peptides are chains of amino acids, the building blocks of our body’s proteins. These peptides can act as communication signals between cells. The cells produce specific reactions in response to these signals, stimulating functions such as decreased inflammation, fat breakdown, and increases in muscle mass. Some peptides even stimulate skin pigment producing cells called melanocytes, which can lead to tanning without increased exposure to UV radiation. The peptides are administered via a subcutaneous injection.
IV Nutrient And Chelation Therapy
Oxidative stress exists in your body when there is an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants. Free radicals bind to and damage your DNA and cell membranes. UV radiation, cigarette smoke, alcohol, processed meats, and foods high in refined sugars, are but a few sources from which free radicals are formed. This imbalance can be restored through IV infusions of high dose Vitamin C (a natural antioxidant).
We offer a variety of IV's that can be used for rehydration, energy production, mental clarity, pain relief, pre/post workout, hangover relief, immune system boosting, and more.
Medical Marijuana & Cannabidiol Oil
Ohio lawmakers passed House Bill 523 in the summer of 2016, making medical marijuana legal in Ohio, and it established the rules governing the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program. The Ohio Medical Board has approved the use of medical marijuana to help treat and alleviate the symptoms associated with a variety of medical conditions and ailments. Our physicians recognize the overwhelming evidence supporting medical marijuana's potential to improve one’s quality of life, and after a comprehensive examination will provide prescriptions as warranted.
These include: acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, chronic pain, Crohn’s disease, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, epilepsy (seizures), fibromyalgia, glaucoma, hepatitis C, human immunodeficiency virus, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, post-traumatic stress disorder, sickle cell anemia, spinal cord injury, Tourette syndrome, traumatic brain injury, and ulcerative colitis.
If you suffer from any of the 21 medical conditions or ailments list above, you are eligible for treatment with medical marijuana in Ohio. However, not all Ohio physicians are certified or willing to prescribe medical marijuana. Our physicians recognize the overwhelming evidence supporting medical marijuana's potential to improve one’s quality of life, and after a comprehensive examination will provide prescriptions as warranted.
Please visit the Ohio’s Medical Marijuana Control Program (OMMCP) website for a full description of the 3-step process to obtain medical marijuana.
